Bettye is a certified professional tour guide. She retired four years ago after working for 24 years as a registered nurse anesthetist at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Since that time she has devoted more time to her hobbies of birding, gardening, touring Texas, and Houston. Bettye’s favorite part of touring Houston, Harris and surrounding counties is exploring the rich and surprising history of the African American influence.
Bettye volunteers as tour director of a retiree group she belongs to. She is especially fond of planning and directing tours for retiree groups, church groups, and family reunions.
